Why Aberafon Campsite Should Be Your Next Family Adventure

From its sun-kissed beaches to the quaint, musical brook filling our evenings with harmony, we were completely enamoured by the beauty of Aberafon Campsite. We spent two nights here over a scorching weekend in May, and it was an absolute joy.

The Pitches & Power
Beat the Heat: Even in a tent, our sheltered pitch did a fantastic job of keeping us cool during the heatwave.
Choosing Your Spot: Electrical hookups are readily available. However, the unpowered spots tend to be the pitches most exposed to the elements. Keep this in mind when booking your location, especially outside of high season.

Beach & Water Activities
Sandy Pockets: The beach itself is predominantly rocky, but you can easily find lovely patches of sand right near the main path leading down from the campsite.
Water Sports: While we didn’t bring our kayaks or paddleboards this time, the water was filled with visitors enjoying the sea when we arrived.

Facilities & Family Vibe
Clean Amenities: The facilities are fantastic. The site features a full shower block and multiple exceptionally clean toilets. Water collection points and dishwashing areas are conveniently scattered across the grounds.
Quiet Yet Family-Friendly: The site maintains a peaceful, quiet atmosphere but features a playground park to keep young families entertained.

The Golden Hour Magic
The true highlight of this coastal spot happens at sunset. Gathering around a wood fire and a small barbecue made our evenings feel magical. Just remember to extinguish your campfires properly and leave no trace by disposing of your rubbish responsibly.

We had a fantastic trip and will definitely be returning to this North Wales gem!
